Happy 70th Birthday Pop!

It’s amazing how March 21 turned out to one of the most important days of my life.  Literally!!  70 years ago today my father, Hank Baskett II, first blessed this world.  I can truly say that I wouldn’t be here today had that not happened.  That’s a given.  But what’s more important is that without him being such a strong, loving, positive role model in my life I wouldn’t be the man I am today.  He has been by my side for almost 32 years and has never once not been more than a phone call away ready and willing to give me advice about ever aspect of my life.  He has always been able to provide wisdom to what’s happening in my life.  Never has he spoken to me like he knows everything, instead offering me great insight from what he personally feels.  His honesty is what I love the most.  Never holds punches and because of that I can always trust what he says.  Happy Birthday Pops!!  I love you!

The other reason this day means more than life itself to me is 6 years ago I first met Kendra.  Never knowing that that moment would forever change my life.  Kendra and I have are proud to say that we haven’t gone more than 24 hours without speaking for 6 years!!!  Meeting her has turned out to be the greatest moment in my life.  Yes I know we have one child and are expecting another.  BUT without her I would never have been blessed with the beautiful children here today.  I have gained so much knowledge from Kendra.  More than she is willing to accept.  She has become one of the greatest wives and mothers any man could dream to have by his side.  I could go on and on about Kendra but I think you get the picture.  I love you Kendra and thank you for coming up to me and forcing me to get your number!!

March 21st will forever have a special place in my heart.  I’m blessed to say that the memory of this date is shared by 2 of the greatest people I’ve ever met in my life!
